Aaniin, this page was created as a resource for Joseph K. Lumsden Bahweting Anishinaabe School in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Our school is a K - 8 Tribal/Charter school founded to pass on the Anishinaabe language and culture.
DisclaimerThe Anishinaabe people cover the largest geographic area of any tribal people in the United States, and one of the largest in North America. Our information is by no means the definitive guide on history, language, and culture. Our information is a foundation specific to our area passed through various elders and teachers. We hope our resources are helpful as we continue to learn as well.

Feel free to explore any and all areas of our site. The intent is to provide basic knowledge of our (Anishinaabe) history, language, and culture. We also have a section specifically for grade level teachers (in development) seeking ideas or examples to culturally integrate lessons in their classes.
FeedbackOur site is a space that will continue to evolve. In order to improve and make our information more valuable and meaningful, we appreciate feedback. Please contact us to share your thoughts, ideas, or suggestions.
